The Campus Kitchen at the College of William and Mary
The Run for the Dream will donate leftover food to The Campus Kitchen at the College of William and Mary, an affiliate of the national volunteer organization, The Campus Kitchens Project.
The Campus Kitchen is a student-run volunteer organization that receives excess food from area restaurants and grocery stores including Trader Joe’s, A Gift from Ben (a local food pantry), and the Williamsburg Farmers’ Market. The food is then made into healthy meals, repackaged and delivered to various low-income housing complexes in Williamsburg as well as AVALON, a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. On average 130 meals each week are created and delivered by the organization. They also run “Fun at Five” activities twice a week for the children in these neighborhoods. The Run for the Dream is proud to support The Campus Kitchen.
